So, the pictures from the 4th of July are here!!
Getting ready for the parade- yes, we are part of the parade, so I had to decorate the Little Bug's stroller- not realizing that my attempt at decorating was seriously underwhelming compared to what we would see. Little Bug liked all the bows and by the time we left, he was busily pulling bows off his stroller. Of course- Me-Me and Pooh had to get on the parade activities too.
Walking through the neighborhood on the way to the parade
Down at the line up point- this is still early (we were nearly 1 hour early for the parade because I did not get the notice and received incorrect information from neighbors)
Some more of the line up area.
During the parade- Little Bug waving his flags and enjoying the walk with all the other kids. We met some new friends and got to see just how many kids Little Bug's age are in the neighborhood. There are probably 50 kids under the age of 4- so we'll have to watch for them as we walk in the neighborhood.
Closer view of the fire truck and the water spraying over the kids.
After the parade, we went over to Mam and Pap's house. This is Pap blocking Little Bug from the pretzels.
The inner workings of toddler's mind: see Little Bug, see the chair.
Little Bug sizing up the chair
Little Bug deciding that he can sit in the chair. We were laughing so hard at this!!!! Then Little Bug decided that I should sit in the chair, then Mam should sit in the chair and then Pap should sit in the chair. he could not understand why we kept telling him NO and then laughing at him.
After playing at my parents, we headed over to Auntie Laura's for dinner- grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. Guess what the Little Bug did not like? he had a dinner of potato chips (just a few), cheese slices and mandarin oranges. I am not sure he understands that hamburgers and hot dogs are a stable of our summer diet. This year he is off the hook in eating them, because I can not watch him and get the grill started at the same time- something about toddlers and fires not being good together that is preventing me from cooking on the grill. It is hard enough keeping an eye on him when I cook on the stove. I can't imagine watching him outside while I try to get the charcoal grill started and then keeping him away from the hot grill while I cook.
Anyway, for dessert, Uncle Darrel made Lemon pie. I was sure that the Little Bug would not like it, but he does. Go figure.
Here is Little Bug playing with Ginger the dog. He was hugging and kissing on her. Ginger is such a good dog- she just let Little Bug love her and so long as he did not try to touch her eyes, she was fine. When she had a enough of him, she moved to a different spot in the living room.
We started out day at 6 am. Little Bug has not learned that holidays mean we sleep later, not that we get up earlier. His day end at 6:30 pm when he feel fast asleep on the way home from Auntie Laura's house. He woke up long enough to have a bottle and then he went back to sleep. That meant that this morning, he woke up at 5 am. Thank goodness I had gone to bed at 8 pm last night.
