Happy Father's Day

First the pictures

Listening to the dishwasher- it was the first time Little Bug heard the dishwasher in the house- maybe the first time ever in his life. Making pictures for Pap and Grandpa Joe
Coloring the pictures for them
Hey Momma- bath time is FUN!!! Little Bug actually asked to go in the bath- no tears, no crying. I had to pull him out when he started shivering and then he cried because he had to get out.
Pap introducing Little Bug to Grandpa Joe. Little Bug is Grandpa's 46 great grandchild. There are 2 more great grandchildren due this year. Grandpa Joe has 12 children, 45 grand children, 46 (and counting) great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Wow- what a legacy!!
Meeting Grandpa Joe's dog, Cyber. Little Bug refers to dogs as "woo-woo".Cyber and Little Bug were not to sure of each other- but by the end of the visit, Little Bug really wanted to play with Cyber and all Cyber wanted to do was sleep.
It is the eve of Father's Day and I want to take the time to post about the 2 most important men in Little Bug's life.
First to Senor C., Little Bug's first father:
God bless you for all the love and devotion that you gave to Little Bug. When I started this process, knowing that I was single, I prayed that God would give Little Bug as much time as possible with you so that he, Little Bug, would have a wonderful example of a father, husband and friend. At the time, I though Little Bug had come to you when he was 4 month old- all my documents stated that. but as I found out when I looked at the documents I got when Little Bug came home, he had been with you since he was 1 day old. Thank you so much for every thing-there are not enough words to thank you for your example to him, for your love, for your patience through this long process. Little Bug and I pray for you each night- you are never far from my thoughts. I pray that your example and love for Little Bug will continue to guide him as he grows older. I pray that he becomes the man that you are- a loving husband, devoted father and man with great compassion. You are an amazing man and we love you.
Second, to my dad, Pap:
28 years ago you met a woman with 3 children and with in 2 years we were a family. In the years that have gone bye, you have been there when I needed to cut off contact with my biological father, you encouraged me to reach for my dreams, you gave me support when I needed it and most of all, you love my mom. I thank you for everything you have given to me, but most of all, in the last year, I thank you for your support of Little Bug's adoption. You might have been unsure when I started on this road, but when you saw Little Bug's picture, you were hooked. Now as I see you with him, I see the love and the joy you have for Little Bug. It makes me so proud to be your daughter. We may never share the same last name, but you are the man I consider my father. Thank you for sharing this journey with me and thank you for loving the Little Bug and giving him an example of a loving grandpa.
To all the fathers out there- Happy Father's Day. Without you, we would not be here.
Love,
Momma Bug

Deb,
I checked out your blog again after reading a post by you on one of the forums. I love all the pics of your little bug - he's so cute. :)
Your post here brought tears to my eyes - so many similarities in our fathers' reactions to this journey - skeptisism to pure joy.
Stay strong in what you do.
