More pictures from Day 1 in Portugal

Here are the rest of the pictures from today.

This evening, R and I headed into Sintra for some shopping and dinner. Dinner came after no healthy food since 6 am this morning Portugal time when we were fed on the plane. This is R- my project manager

Me

Fun stuff for Bug- they have John Deere tractors here at the hotel

me, same spot- it was much more windy at this time of day and really cooler than when I first went out in the morning.

Me by the Christmas trees- one white with black ornaments and one black tree with white ornaments.

R by the bar (she asked to pose here)

A waterfall for Bug

Monastery wall ruins

Remains of the church. I think the exoskeleton was put in place to show what the original building looked like

From one of the gardens behind the church

Gorgeous iron work doorway at the church

Fountain in the garden- the wind was blowing so hard right before this, that the water was sideways.

Map of the grounds. The golf course surrounds all the ruins.

The church

A small ruined building on the grounds of the church

Looking at the church from the driveway of the hotel.
it has been a long day. I have not slept since Sunday night and it is now 9:30 pm here (4:30 pm US time). So I am going to bed now.
Love to you,
Deb
