so after 5 days with a giant hole where the driveway used to be, the cement truck pulled up to the house!!!!!! Now, being the momma of a toddler boy, there was no way a huge truck was coming to our house and the Bug was not going to be there. So I worked it out with Auntie Laura (Lulu) to bring Bug back to the house for lunch and some BIG TRUCK time.
I will say, having lunch with my boy in the middle of the week is AWESOME. It was the perfect break from my meetings in the morning and my tasks in the afternoon.
Bug was styling in his Little Farmer shirt and matching hat along with his pirate sunglasses. The Bug is nothing, if not prepared.
This is the face I love- just hanging out enjoying the day
Of course he then decided to be Mr. Busy Bee and pick up everything and anything he could find. He also waved to the workers and wondered why they would not wave back, wanted to go "play" with their big toys, thought the truck was too loud and generally behaved like a toddler.
This is Auntie Lulu with Bug
BIG CEMENT TRUCK. For those of you who understand- the driveway took 9 cubic yards of cement from the truck and they had to go get more to finish the side and 1.5 sidewalk blocks. After my adventure pouring concrete for the clothes, I wonder how much in pounds, of cement was poured into the driveway?
Here they are putting the wire mesh down so they can pull it up through the concrete later

Smoothing the concrete. This is a view from inside my garage- the one I have not been able to get to for 5 days and I will still not be able to get to for another 7 days while the concrete cures and dries. I really think this would have been the time to paint the garage- but that is on the list for another Spring or Fall.
Auntie Lulu took some pictures with her camera, hopefully they will email them to me tomorrow and I can post them with the pictures that I took this evening while Bug played with Pap. Jason had a band concert and we hung out before the concert, playing in the sun.
We hope you had a wonderful day and great evening-
Love to you,
Deb and Little Bug

Back in the land of the healthy and some pictures from our week
So working backward through our week. Today, Sunday, Bug was feeling better and I was still not 100%- which is a bad mix. So I resorted to my usual plan of attack, go see Mam and Pap. That was a bust as Bug decided to stop listening and we left because I decided he needed a nap. A nap, he finally took at 4:30 pm. But he did lay on the couch and let me hang the wash on our new clothes line, he let me pay bills (oh the joy) and I he let me take a shower uninterrupted (the first time in 11 months). So for good behavior and in an effort to distract him( my second plan) , we headed out to the Cincy Cinco festival. This is to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, but is very family friendly. I though Bug might dance to the music, play the games, have some fun- but he sat in the stroller and refused to get out.
yes, I dressed him in his Guatemalan soccer shirt. My plan was to look for matching shorts for the shirt- but no luck. The shorts they had all had cartoon characters on them, not the official team shots. So I will continue to look.
I will say that I like this festival much more than the Hispanic festival in summer that we went to last year. This one had more music all day, more types of food, better prices on food and seemed more marketed toward both the Hispanic and non Hispanic communities in the area. Bug and I will be back to this festival again.
Bug tried a churro- but only took a bite of it. I had a dish called "Pupusas". I really like them- anyone have a recipe?

Bug got a balloon and he had more fun with it.
Smiling in the morning
Preparing to go into the festival
This it the type of pictures you get when you ask a toddler to hold your camera while you tie his balloon to the stroller.

On Thursday, our driveway was torn out to be replaced with a new concrete driveway. These guts worked all day. Of course it stormed Friday and Saturday and it looked like a lake. The new concrete will be poured on Tuesday. Auntie Lulu is going to bring Bug over to the house to watch the concrete being poured. Hopefully it will be done in the afternoon so Bug gets a nap and then I can finish up work and Bug will just be home with me instead him having to go back to Auntie Lulu's in the afternoon.

On Wednesday- the truck came and Uncle Dave moved out. It was a great sunny day for the move out. It took 4 hours start to finish (load up and unload at Uncle Dave's apartment. Bug missed it.

This is the basement almost cleared of Uncle Dave's stuff.
So that is how our week went. Maybe this week will be calmer and Bug and I will stay healthy. Bug is sleeping, I have some fabric to cut for a fabric swap. Love you all,
Deb

Update
This is what Bug and my schedule looked like for the last 2 days-
Friday 1.5 hours of work/daycare- then fevers for both of us, much sleep, an attempt to do grocery shopping, more sleep- Bug in the bed with me because at 10:30 pm he woke up every hour on the hour and at 2:30 am, I finally could not take it any more.
Saturday- slept until 9 am- attempted breakfast- which resulted in Bug vomiting all over himself. Off to the grocery store pharmacy for he prescription that the doctor gave me on Friday as a back up (see below for the details). 3.5 hour nap with telemarketers calling me every 30 minutes on my work line (rats- I would like to rip the earphones off their heads and shove them down their throats). The diarrhea started after our nap and it continued all afternoon- one banana, some chicken and rice soup and pedylite and Bug is now sleeping. I am tired, I think I will be going to soon.
Details of the doctor's office:
Our doctor was out sick, so we got to see the new doctor in the practice. he looked in Bug's mouth- swollen tonsils, he looked in Bug's ears- too much wax to see the ear drums, he took a throat culture to do the rapid streph test. While the streph test was running, he sent the nurse in to clean out Bug's ears- that so did not work- Bug started crying and attempted to vomit on the nurse before she even tried anything. i kept trying to tell them that we had tried this before with his regular doctor and failed. So because the doctor could not see Bug's ear drums, he would not say that there was a infection- did not matter that bug had a fever over 100 degrees since Thursday night. He told me to alternate Motrin and Tylenol and watch if Bug's symptom's changed. he did give me a prescription for an antibiotic to use if Bug's condition changed. I guess we'll say his condition changed this morning.
I also picked up the ear drops to clean out the ear wax- supposedly it takes 4 days. We'll see. All I know is that Bug told me to "be gentle". I do not think he likes things in his ears.
Love to you,
Deb
