Outing with the MKs and enjoying the music

Last night, Bug and I attended a concert with friends. We saw the local Pops Orchestra before they left for the Olympics. It was spur of the moment thanks to a call from from the MKs.
So, Bug got to see his first concert at age 2 years and 49 weeks old (WOW!!!). We had lawn seats, which meant packing chairs (slacker momma had to borrow some), a blanket for the grass- which would have worked had it not rained an hour before the concert started, toys (again, slacker momma did not bring the right ones) and food (score, I got this one right).
Bug dancing in the dark toward the end of the concert

MK2 dancing and running to her momma
Blowing bubbles before the concert
Dancing early in the concert
Really loving the music
More spinning and dancing from MK2

MK1 and MK2 sharing a mother daughter moment

The orchestra is WAYYYYYYYYY, WAYYYYY up there in front-

Our group all set up

Coloring book and crayons provided by MK1

Another shot of the group

More bubble blowing from Bug.

Hits from the night:
the music- all Broadway tunes
the food: grapes, watermelon, apple juice and water and fruit snacks
the toys: bubbles, coloring books and
crayons, small ball (we might owe MK2 a ball)
Friends: seeing the MKs, their family and another FTIA family (after the concert)

Bug and I got home at 11 pm last night. I was hoping for a late morning, but he was up at 9 am. We skipped church so we could have a day together: we had breakfast that neither of us liked, we napped on the couch, Bug played wiht his toys while I read the paper, we watched the NASCAR race, we had dinner, we went grocery shopping, we read books, Bug had bath time and he is now sound asleep in his own bed.

It was a good weekend. I think Bug and I might buy tickets to next summer's concert series - we had a great time.

Thanks so much MK1 for thinking of us and inviting us to the concert- we loved the music, but most of all, we loved seeing you both again.

love and hugs to you,
Deb

growing, GROWING

Bug is growing, growing, growing.

Since the warm weather started, he has gone up 2 shoes sizes - form 7.5 to 9.5 size shoes.
I measured him yesterday and he was 39 inches tall. Just a month ago, he was 36.5 inches tall.

Incredible!!!
But these pictures show the growth over one year. The pictures in the blue shirt are the FTIA picnic in 2007 (6 weeks after he came home), the pictures where he is in a blue shirt are from this year's picnic.

He is almost too big for this swing- his feet were dragging this year and last year they did not even touch the ground

Last year, his feet would not reach the foot rests on the teeter-totter, this year, he reached them without issue. He is just growing up so fast. Love to you, Deb

More fun with friends

OK, these are in reverse order. Sunday morning, we had breakfast with MADM, D and S, A and E (Bug's future wife). We ate at this great restaurant called Le Peeps (YUMMMMM). There was a quilt shop right now the row, unfortunately it was closed, so I am seeing another trip to Indy so I can shop- rumor has it I am coming up in September for my job- I think I see some extra time in town to shop!!!!
Bug with Momma and A. He was done seeing other people and just wanted to go home (OK, momma was feeling the need to head home too- something about my bed, my house, etc)

Bug and Momma having a yummy breakfast- we shared a breakfast burrito and a think called a gooy bun (english muffin with cinnamon, sugar and butter melted on top and then cream cheese on the site) I think I can make this at home.
A, who is one of the best people out there!!! She is a super cool single mom and I love being with her. I am so glad that Bug and her daughter are getting married when us momma decide they are old enough to get married, we are going to be a cool family!!!!! It is a shame she lives just far enough away that we can't see each other on a regular basis.
MADM: she is awesome too- even if she moved to OK- she thinks we should come see her soon- I think spring or fall would be the only time I would go there since heat and humidity are bad enough here at home. MADM has a huge heart and sweet spirit that come through in all that she does.

A and E
E, Princess tator tot, hamming it up for Bug.
MADM giving S kisses
D ignoring the camera

We woke up at 8 am- yes, Bug and Y slept until 8!!!!!!!!

They were all about the hugs this morning. Y is a sweet heart and it was so fun hanging with her and her momma.
I love the bed head look from these two.
Bug talking with Mam before we headed out to breakfast. he was disappointed that Pap was outside watering the new grass.

Bug and D (other D) having some drinks last night.
Trying to organize the group shot of the boys for Mireya and her family. Unfortunately C did not want to be in the picture- but his younger brother J played stand in for him

Here they are-
bottom row: J and Bug
middle row: S (looking away)
top row: D with his sisters AAA
a candid shot- laughing boys while we tried to get them stay while C was being talked to about being in the picture.
It was a great weekend- a good break from the routine of our life, an awesome time with friends and refreshing time just getting away from our house and our normal life.
The drive home was uneventful- Bug fell asleep 5 minutes after we left the restaurant. He slept all the way to the exit from highway at Mam and pap's house- nearly 2 hours!!!!!
he is now sleeping away in his bed- He went ot bed at 7:30 pm and was asleep by 7:45- so I think he was worn out by the travel, the heat and the interactions with new folks.
I have to go photoshop some pictures.
Love and hugs to you,
Deb

Busy, long, fun day

Our day started at 6:30 am- yes, Bug after staying up until 10 pm on saturday night, got up at his usual time!!!!!
In spite of us being up early, we were still late to the picnic. I was scheduled to work the tee-shirt table at 10 am- I think we got there at10:15 am. Before we get into the day- I must show off Bug and his future bride- this is Princess tater tot (E.). I don't think they were too taken with each other- might have somethingot do with 5 hours out in the heat a humidity and no naps.

At the tee-shirt table, Bug found a freind in Cierra- the dog. He hung out with her until T and Y arrived and they took him off to the playground while I finished my shift

Just having fun and excitment- the swings, the digger, and int he trains.
Playing on the teter-toter with N

carousel riding with Momma, Vaca Dada, hermano

After 5 hours out in the heat and sun, this is the Bug sacked out in the backseat of the car while we drove back to the hotel to get cleaned up so we could go>......

D's family invited all Mireya's boys to her house for dinner and playtime

I have one more photo of as many of the boys as possible, but my camera will not download it. So, Bug is blue, D is teal, S is in yellow and C is in orange

It was an awesome day. it is now 9 pm and we are hitting hitting the hay to get some sleep. We are having breakfast with Princess Tator Tot tomorrow and then heading home.
Love and hugs to you.
