Election night- eve of Momma's business trip

UPDATE: the election is over and my candidate won. What an exciting election.

Tonight is election night. Bug and I eat dinner at our favorite restaurant. Bug was sporting his voting sticker on his face- lest anyone miss that he voted. After dinner, we headed home and I packed Bug's bag for this week- he will be staying with my sister while I am traveling to Denver for a business trip. After packing, we sat on the floor and played. We are practicing for our trip to Guatemala in January.

We have a Pap, nene, Mam, friend, Momma, and another friend. Bug likes these guys because they have a mini van- that was the reason I bought them. Bug enjoyed playing with E's mini's van when we visited her last year. Since then I have been looking for a mini van for Bug. All that I found until 2 weeks ago were hot pink and Barbie themed. I really felt Bug needed a more gender neutral van. i finally found one and then had to buy him people to go with it.

A better view of our people family. They took a ride on the airplane in the background too. Of course Bug decided that they needed to be knocked down right after this- nothing like a total wipe out.

Another picture of Bug at Chipotle with his sticker.
Bug and I have been watching the news since 6 pm (with a break for Bob the Builder). I am excited about today's vote- from the standpoint of an engaged voting population. This is history and we are living it tonight.
To everyone who voted or still will vote tonight- YEAH to you and THANK YOU for voting.
Love to you,
Deb

Thankful- out of mouth of a toddler

Bug is starting to pray out loud at night- for the most part he repeats what I say, but lately he has been interjecting his own prayers.

Last night this was his prayer:

Dear God, thank you for:
swimming with Y
jumping
eggs for dinner
yelling
momma
Mam and Pap
falling down
playing
Lulu, Jason, Darrell, Tink
ginger and izzy (my sister's dogs)

Did you catch the prayers- the good and bad.

Yelling was for momma yelling at him for things during the evening, falling down was for falling down while playing at the pool, swimming was for the swimming lesson where he spent 30 minutes crying because he had to sit on the side of the pool instead of sitting in my lap (it is kind of hard to have a swim lesson when he is sitting on my lap).
Bug approaches prayer the way we are supposed to approach prayer- being thankful for the good and the bad.

So many times I am only thankful for the good things and I complain about the bad things. I am told to come to Jesus like a child does- with everything laid out, everything is a prayer and everything is something to be thankful for. I need to be more like Bug- more thankful at that time for the good and the bad. I should bring it all to God, the good and the bad.

Love to you,
Deb

Just living life

The last few days, we have just been living life as a family - doing normal everything things like: eating scrambled eggs after swimming lessons (momma had chicken noodle soup)

Having a nice bath on Sunday night

Learning how to wash myself (bathing according to toddler)

eating corn on the cob (yummy) and more corn on cob.
Bug is growing up- he dresses himself (about 25% of the time), he is starting to wash himself in the tub- he does a 90% job, he feeds himself- nearly all the time.
He grew quite a bit the last few months- his show size is 11 now and I think he grew 2 inches, but my measuring stick is not accurate right now, so I need to measure him at the doctor's office.
He is wearing 4T pants and shirts. I think he needs to slow down on the growing thing- I need him to stay in these clothes for at least a season.
Love and hugs,
Deb
